June News 2009

On behalf of LKK Karate Team I would like to thank the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society for sponsoring our Karate Team. Their support will open many new opportunities for us as well as help develop the mechanics necessary to enhance our Karate competition skills, also their contribution will enable us to participate in highly distinguished tournaments. These events will broaden the team’s discipline and character, on and off the mats, which is invaluable to our future endeavours.

As you can imagine there are a lot of expenses involved in managing a high calibre team like this. Their sponsorship will provide for the purchase of uniforms.

Their contribution is not solely a charitable contribution, but is also an advertising opportunity, without the support of companies like the Norwich and Peterborough it would be hard for our students to achieve their goals. Anyone interested in supporting LKK Squad should contact Paul Chief Instructor.

Calais International, France.

Two LKK students Chris Harris, Emily Griffiths and Reisha Hull from the Caribbean Club, travelled to France to compete in the Calais International on Saturday 20th June 09. With all three taking Gold medals in their individual sections, LKK was once again well represented at the championships and the competitors of course gaining valuable international experiences at a professionally run competition. With a high standard of international competitor and with other national squads in attendance the LKK Squad will be taking part in further international events this year.

Top Fund Raiser

Lee Fenner, who joined the rest of Links Karate Kai in a sponsored kick to raise funds to help our LKK Internationals to compete at International Championships, claimed his prize for raising the most funds in his private session with the Internationals and the friend of his choice Jessica Olney.

Sensei Paul and the Internationals would like to say a big Thank You to all that raised funds, it is most appreciated.
